Thanks for the reply Dave. In that case if i work on desktop & use a good graphics card or I/O card will it give correct calibration, what i mean to say is display/IO cards are cheaper than professional capture or color card. My work is for broadcast, so accuracy is important for me, having said that i do need an inexpensive solution. Please forgive me if i sound blunt.

Thanks for the reply. you have picked a very important issue actually, i haven’t thought that way. You see im making a movie on HDSLR which will be broadcast on television. In that case what would you suggest for the setup. I agree with the broadcast monitor, what kind of I/O card you suggest. Im wondering what other low budget filmmakers do with their movies while doing the post by themselves. If it gets expensive then no good news for me.

Thanks for the reply. actually im more on to hd record hence no tape involved, i’ll import directly to NLE & with the help of necessary codec i can edit. I just wasn’t sure without a capture or color card am i going to get full quality result. Someone told me that i wont get full quality output without a professional capture card so im confused.
