As usual nothing done about outdated colour corrector in Symphony.

Great, thanks for the info. I guess if I decide the performance isn’t good enough for what I need then I could always use the GTX in a second slot and use a primary GUI card such as I have at the moment (ATI RADEON HD 5770).
Would this generally be a better idea – if I could fit them all in?

Has this been resolved yet? I’m wondering which panel I should go for.

I am slightly confused by the config guide for the Mac Pro. I am unclear what is most desirable in terms of a combined GUI and Image Processing card or individual ones if I have a limited amount of slots available.
Also, is it better to have a card that requires no auxiliary power in combination with a GUI one that does or a more powerful card that does both. Given that I need a decklink and a RAID card I would rather have one card if possible. -
Sorry, I am Mac (Pro) based. It’s not a young one; Quad 2.8 ghz, 8 GB RAM.
I am buying a decklink card as I currently have an Aja. I’ll be going from Symphony 6.0.3 to the Davinci and (hopefully) back again so I guess an aaf route of media that was originally shot at XDCAM 50mb/s and transcoded to DNX in the conform.I have read the Resolve guides but I understand there are some new cards/configurations on the horizon that are not detailed in the October 2012 updated sys requirements. I should also say that as well as the decklink card I will be need to have a slot free for my RAID card too.
I think that’s it. Any advice appreciated.

March 3, 2013 at 9:29 pm in reply to: Ultrascopes on an old Dell Precision – Possible? Also future of USB3 support on mac for Pocket Ultrascope?Hey Bob,
If you wanted to use the Ultrascope going from the Teranex to the Mac Mini via Thunderbolt then does that mean you wouldn’t be able to capture to the Mac Mini any clips from the Teranex, or just that you would have to shut down the Ultrascope software while you were doing it?

February 9, 2013 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Switching from Kona LHe to Decklink SDI – Pros/ConsI am currently running a Kona LHi and I’m looking into getting a Resolve set up on my Mac however, I’m wondering if I could run the Kona alongside a Decklink SDI as a cheap monitoring solution for Resolve.
I currently run Symphony 6 on this machine and don’t really want to lose my Kona functionality.

February 9, 2013 at 10:45 pm in reply to: Switching from Kona LHe to Decklink SDI – Pros/Cons“It is super unfriendly, I find, and the documentation is even worse. When I was setting up the Resolve that I am now using, I would’ve happily taken a single GPU with a Kona 3G over the Decklink with 2x.”
Am I getting this wrong or are you saying there is an option of running a single GPU with a Kona monitoring Resolve?

Ronald,
Good to hear that there are plans to make the forums more accessible to smart phone users. It’s where I do most of my browsing these days.
Thanks for the response.Archie

April 20, 2011 at 8:59 pm in reply to: Rendering out multiple instances of the same clip to AvidHmmm. I read that section of the manual but that doesn’t really help as I understand it. the timecodes are not the issue but the actual source clips. I have to say, coming from “Color” I didn’t envisage roundtripping to be so complicated. I’m wondering if there is a better workflow using EDLs instead of AAFs.
