    Indeed… I think I am going to stick with it for now.

    For those who encounter the same problem with me, what I do is to:
    1. make sure the c4d window is on whatever monitor it shows the functioning viewport
    2. save it as start-up layout (then it suppose to boot up on that monitor as well)

    Also a big thank you to Jim ☺ have a good one!

    I am afraid that I see no template.c4d:

    However, I think I have some idea…
    In fact, I have a dual monitor set-up + two 1080Ti,
    and as far as I know, the OpenGL setting in C4D preference shows only 1 of my GPU,

    what I have just found that if the c4d comes on my 1st monitor (GPU 1) after booting up, the viewport is fine.
    but when it boots up on my 2st monitor (GPU 2), it greyed out, and I grad my C4D window to my 1st monitor, the viewport will then be normal again, no matter where I drag it to.

    Do you think it is the fix..? or am I understanding it wrong.

    But I just tried and it does not work..
    It did work for the first time but suddenly it didn’t when I try to re-confirm if it is the fix.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Yes. it goes something like this:

    1) [saved user 1 layout as startup layout ]
    startup = blank viewport >
    switch to “Animate” = working viewport >
    switch back to “user 1 layout” = working viewport

    2) [Animate as startup layout]
    startup = blank viewport >
    switch to any other layout = working viewport

    it seems that the no matter what the first layout is, the booting up viewport is got to be blank…

    Thank you for your reply.

    It seems that it isn’t the problem since I did turn all the settings in “filter.”
