It seems that I may have stumbled upon a solution… (though nothing seems to be guaranteed with this kind of thing)
I’ll detail what I discovered so others can dig this up if they run into a similar problem. I am using Adobe Premiere and Encoder CS4.
The project I am working on requires subtitles for different languages. For each line of dialogue I create a title and number it for referencing purposes. For example, German has many titles named GER_01, GER_02, etc.
Instead of creating a new slide each time, I would copy, paste, and rename each one. Here’s where the error came in. I copied and pasted the title and then dropped it into the sequence without renaming it. There were two GER_01 in the timeline because of this mistake. Upon noticing my error, I went into the Media Bin and renamed the title. However, the sequence did not reflect the name change.
I have gone back and deleted the duplicate titles and created new ones. It seems to be working.
Hopefully if anyone else runs into a similar problem this is some help.
