This how you crop. Example is for hdv to sd but workflow is the same.
Then go to the output tab and check if the bar have gone. Make sure it is set to scale to fit.

In CS4 Adobe change or rather corrected the PAR to Britsh standard.
That is why you are seeing those small vertical bars. The only way to get rid of them is to crop the image in the export setting, but will give you some qualityloss as it has to be recalculated. Most tv sets or lcd tv’s are overscanned so you wont notice. Playing your on a pc or laptop: yes it will show.
If you do not like these vertical bars make a feature request, your voice will be heared.

Auto save is just fine but the problem is it overwrites itself after so many time (you can set this in your preferences). Also you have a chance of having all corrupt auto saves. Because of this overwriting system.
Yes you can save manually but also save a copy to another disk at the end of the day and give these projects a unique name. -
Convert to jpeg and no larger than 4096×4096 but prefably project size.

There are several ways to do this.
1.downscale in the camera to dv and edit in dv and burn to dvd.
2.capture in hdv, edit in hdv and downscale to dvd-mpeg2 and burn to dvd with Encore.
3.capture in hdv, edit in hdv and export to BluRay and burn to a BluRay disk (need to author it first in Encore)
When you want HD quality on DVD you need a BluRay player to view the content: export to Bluray mpeg or H.264 and authore it to a BluRay iso in Encore. Burn with Nero onto a DVD. Single layer will hold about 20 minutes of HDV timeline. -
Divx is a pain in the b…
Its highly compressed, suitable for watching but not for editing.
Best is to find a converter and convert the footage to dv-avi.
With divx the changes of getting it right is very slim. -
If you set your CTI in the right place and select the track you want it to be on, copy/paste gets your clip where you want it in one go.

Click on the name Crop in the Effect Controls so its highlighted.
This will give you controles in the Program Window.
