would generating a stroke on a bezier mask curve and animating it manually do the trick?

I’ve a similar problem – stylized strands of hair. If any one has any ideas about that as well! (Exploring 3D Stroke in the same manner as Generate Stroke, though I wish there was a Particular preset for hair!)

I’ve checked out Ayato’s demo – I’ve figured using the blend tool in Illustrator to create the characters, but I don’t understand how to translate this information to After Effects. Do you copy the vector information from Illustrator and paste it on a layer in After Effects and then proceed?
