The fourCC code is for an XDCAM file.
You’ll want to go into Premiere, go to Menu > Windows > Media Browser. This will open the media browser panel. Navigate to the file and drag it from the Media Browser to your library. If it doesn’t work then you may need to do a little trickery
XDCAM files live in a very certain folder structure, visit the page below and it will link you to a duplicate folder structure to download that you can place your MOV clip in it and fake it. Premiere might recognize it.

There is another problem in that the file has been converted/rewrapped as XDCAM files are either MXF or MP4. Its like saying you have a paperback book but this needs a hard cover… same information, different container.
Alternately, you could rewrap the file to MP4 and give it a try with MPEG Streamclip https://www.squared5.com/ and try the same method as above.
If it still doesn’t work, there are many tutorials for converting files within VLC, but it’s not the best quality and there are few options.

I recommend ASUS as well, I have a P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 (LGA1155 socket with i7 2600K) loaded with 32 gigs of RAM.

Microsoft Word? Try pasting it into notepad first and then copy from that and paste to After Effects. Word might also have a “copy plain text” command, but I don’t recall.
When you copy text from Word, you’re also copying all the formatting information and that can mess royally with programs that expect plain text.
This would be my first troubleshooting step.

I think it may also be used in the viewer as “fast draft”.
As to how it’s controlled now in the output module, I’m not sure. OpenGL output was usually draft-quality only and not suitable for final output.

I imagine you should be okay as After Effects allows all first party effects and features to be rendered by the CPU. AERender also works in commandline mode.
AERender doesn’t have any posted system specs so far as I can tell.
The hiccup is third party plugins and some of the requirements they’ll place, be it GPU usage or licensing issues.
I would, however, wait until someone else more experienced with multimachine setups speaks up.

I’d look up tutorials on animating a mouth. Unless you need emotion to come through, you could create some precomps for all the vowel sounds and two or three other positions and then throw them into your master comp and fine tune from there.
Are you keyframing mask path or the solid’s position? If you’re just keyframing position, then parent all your objects to a null layer and just move the null layer around.
If you’re doing it straight from the masks, it’s a little tricky because the mask wraps position and shape in “Mask Path”.

That is strange. I wonder if ProRes is supported in something like Blackmagic Media Express, the software that captures directly from decklink cards or if it’s the same issue there as well.

Yes, but PHP would be the main gatekeeper. Installing an AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) server on most computers is super easy.
Javascript could be used to “visit” an internal URL which is programmed to post a PHP command. You can pass string data in the URL with the ampersand (&) appended to the end if I recall correctly.
As to if it’s possible from After Effects, it should be in theory. The scripting engine ExtendScript ises is javascript with some additional commands… I don’t think they stripped out any javascript functionality like URL redirects but I could be wrong.

After Effect will use as much RAM as you can throw at it. I use motion graphics, moderate effects (particular, and other generative effects), roto, etc, and 32 gigs suits me just fine. YMMV on that.
I would suggest against the green hard drives. They are tuned for energy saving and have inconsistent spin and access speeds. These will become your bottleneck quickly. WD also has blue and black label drives, with blue being the normal line if I recall correctly.
I would also throw in an SSD specifically for After Effect’s cache. The cache in CS6 is so well improved that a speed boost there can improve your performance a good amount.

You’ll most likely be using “capture without control” which means you have to hit record in Premiere and operate the camera/tape deck independently.
