Very interesting. Perhaps this could also be posted in the FCPX debate forum. People were debating if control surface type hardware is needed.

Would Premiere Pro have a slight advantage if true broadcast compliant output is needed? I know Premiere Pro does not suffer any real-time performance loss on the Windows side using an Intensity Shuttle (USB 3.0). For some editors a magnetic timeline without tracks may not be the most important feature of their workflow.

I agree! The link above with Jesús Pérez-Miranda shows a person trying really hard to make Premiere Pro seem like the worst editing program ever created while at the same time trying to make FCPX seem like the best editing program ever created. Having said that it does not make FCPX look like the best editing program ever. It does however demonstrate that Jesús Pérez-Miranda does not know how to use Premiere Pro efficiently.

On the Windows side I have never had Premiere Pro crash although the drivers can be a tad bit buggy at times. Having said that I am glad you got it working. I cannot edit interlaced video clips for clients without my Intensity Shuttle. Interlaced video just doesn’t look good on the computer monitors.

That is odd indeed. I like having my Intensity Shuttle so I can give the client a really good representation of what the project will look like when broadcast but there are no guaranties. That is to bad that things got messed up at playback.

That means we debate the pros and cons of FCXP as opposed to worshiping FCPX. If you want them to start a forum called Lets All Worship FCPX then make a feature forum request.

He had Cox, I had Time Warner. Same channel, both playing footage created from the same master…but delivered differently.”
Could it have been the zoom control of his TV like at 9:40-10:40 in the video below?

And the fact that Premiere Pro has some bugs and flaws. I go back to the Premiere 6.5 days when the GUI looked like it was made by Fisher Price. Once Premiere Pro 1.0 was released I thought the GUI was so much better. I never made videos about Premiere Pro’s bugs and flaws until the CC. I admit they a minor bugs and don’t crash the system but they are annoying. Some have been fixed but not all. Having said that I have found some flaws and bugs with FCPX as well.

I know the folks at CakeWalk show that program working really well with touchscreens. Some of the other DAW seem to work well with touchscreens. I am not saying the whole editing process is done with touch screens but using the mixing board portion of the GUI seems to work really good in the demonstration videos. I think it is good to have the option of touchscreen as well as control surfaces.
