So after reading these posts I have a question. I recently did work for what seemed to be a legitimate client based out of New York. They’ve got a website up with a lot of projects and focusing on the well being of society, but for the past 45 days have been getting the run around with their HR department about 1099 forms and what not. Anywho, i’m now wishing i would have signed a contract prior to the production. so..

    A. Does anyone have an example of a production form that best fit the terms of agreement

    B. Is there a site where we can list clients that don’t pay out?

Great guys, thank you so much for your help. It seems simple but the audio is just so important.

Great thanks Don. Also just one more question. Let’s say I’m just using the Channel 1 input. What do i do with the channel 2 EXT/INT option on the back, and do I need to change anything on the audio input menu?

Thanks Mark! Really appreciate the time you took!

  • Hey Brad, Just another question for you. I was going through Compressor and found a few options for H.264. I tried to use the H.264 setting under the first Quicktime folder. I’m having trouble finding anything to set the data rate or play with the the file size. I’ve brought up the inspector and looked through the tabs. Could you help?

  • The project is 00:13:48 long. Does this seem like a big file for that length? and should i just choose the lowest min dvd option. Also, instead of compressor i guess just use the flash encoder?

  • Hey Rafael,
I think bc i have the Academic version it doesn’t allow of any type of update. My OS wont recognize any sort of software update and i don’t see an option on the FCP software itself. Do you know where it would be?

  • Yeah that’s correct Rafael, I have 6.0.2 which is academic. I don’t think I can upgrade to a 6
    0.3 version

  • Hey Don thanks for the insight,
I guess what i was confused about was the difference between XDCAM 422 and Apple Pro Res 422. Thinking that maybe if i could import as a 422 it would work better with the FCP setting the export as 422 as well. I changed a few things with the preferences and everything seems to be working better. A side from the “Codec not found” message which i found during a render attempt. This was cured by changing the YUV bit rate to 8.

    Thanks again,

    Andy
