  • Hi David.

You will never get a guaranteed salary in this business.
A staff job is what you need. Not many available.

    🙂

Hi Peter “You and a million others”

Its not your fault peter. You can work your nuts off promoting in this business and get nothing.
Its the way this industry is.

Too much competition working for free or peanuts.

Its a dying industry and will never get better!

You will be very lucky to get a staff job with a guaranteed salary and the majority of independents also use freelancers.

Smaller budgets don`t help either. Its a race to the bottom.

Best look for a more rewarding career where you will also be more appreciated.

    Hi.

Websites don`t work in the video production business.
    There is too much competition.

Clients don`t know where to turn.

It seems you have done a few videos by looking at your website.
How did you manage to get them clients?
    Were they one off jobs?
    Did they just disappear?

I seemed to find that clients dried up extremely quickly in the video production business as they keep chasing the next monkey to do their next production for peanuts.

The major players who work in broadcast tv never seem to put much information on their sites explaining their equipment etc. just samples of their programs and clients.
Obviously they have repeat contacts which to pitch too keep them busy.

Events and corporate video production is a different model.

The video business is a dying industry and I can`t see it getting any better in the future.

    Hope this info helps.

    Take the Job at WAWA.

The best option for me was getting out of this declining industry and doing something where I am now appreciated with a good guaranteed salary.

Best move you will ever make.

    Hi Tim

Thanks for updating me on the google analytics.
You may think I have a negative opinion of the cow but that is not my intention.
I feel it is a fantastic place to recieve and offer advice within the industry.

My gripe is the production business itself which is nearly extinct.

    Hi Tim

You just need to check the web statistics on alexa

    https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/creativecow.net#

    Reach % Change
    Yesterday 0.0123% -19.24% down
    7 day 0.0147% +9% up
    1 month 0.0150% -21.24% down
    3 month 0.0194% -25.15% down

It would also be interesting to see how many views the forums actually get viewed per topic. There seems to be no way of finding out or am i missing something.
