Hello, I might be wrong, but when a video is uploaded to Vimeo I think it is converted to 29.97(NTSC) regardless of what goes “up”. If this is right you will have downloaded in NTSC and so your edit software is switching from reading your material to reading NTSC. Hence it struggles a bit.

Hi John, That makes sense, many thanks. When I made the Sony AVC file it said “Progressive” and was the highest quality the great God Sony could produce. But thanks I can now makes smaller versions.

Thanks for your reply. The answers are as follows. I am PAL in the UK

What project template did you use? HD 1080-50i (1920 x 1080 25fps)

What is your field order? – Upper field first

What is your Deinterace Method – None

I have produced a Sony AVC/MVC (MP4) copy which looks great on my HD PC WIN 7 64bit) but none of the other options worked well. Such as: Save as type – Main Concept Mpeg 2 and the template- DVD architect PAL video widescreen – (the frame size was 720 x 576) which was the one I thought would be best but was very wobbly.
I am new to Vegas 10.

However, it appears I can work with the Sony AVCHD file and have converted it using Any Video Converter down from 784mb to 68 for Youtube. Bit of a pallava though. If you can add any more to this that might help, many thanks. If not – Many thanks.
How come Vegas will not compress down to Youtube level – or does it somehow?
