i’m always importing low res qt’s, the blind effect happens a lot. it does sometimes move so you might want to try and import them a couple of times.

have you tried dumping your data base. If that doesn’t work. Does it keep coming up saying something about problem with one of them.

what i did when i had this problem is…….. wait for it, this will take you while.

go into your drive and put an x in the omfi folder, create a new folder and name it what ever your old omfi folder was call.
then drag (250 at a time) your media over to this new folder. you will need to boot up the avid programme each time you make a transfer.
if you reduce the avid programme each time you come to make the transfer it will reduce the boot up time.
also only transfer media NOT the old data bases or creative folders.
In doing this for some reason the avid can create a new data base file and also it will find any currupted media files that also might be causing you problems.
This does work, but can take a bloody long time as I found out last week when I had to transfer 22,000 files.

Note for self: must partition Medea terra drive into to 4.

    good luck!

PS. if this isn’t what you are having a problem with, then I haven’t got a clue.

Well this maybe just a UK problem..

If mark in and out on my timeline eg
    IN – 10.00.00.00 OUT -10.00.10.00.

On my digi cut tool it will read
    IN – 10.00.00.00 OUT – 10.00.10.01.
The extra frame comes out as a frame of black. the prog I’m working on doesn’t have any fade to black (so could hide the frame there) so I have to play the whole thing out if I have to make any changes.

I have spoken to a number of different editors and got different answers. some agree with my problem and some say their Avid is all fine. My avid support said that avid know about this problem but don’t know how to fix it. What gets my goat is that I’ve just joined a new company and it cost them a lot of money to buy this avid and by the looks of it they can’t get thier money back. I think this is very wrong.

    Any ideas?

  • This works on composer so I think it should work on newscutter.if you click on your burger at the bottom left of your timeline, click on ‘show track’ you should get another menu that lets you choose the the channels you want on your timeline, one of them is film, and this should let you see your footage on the timeline.
