For specifically blurring out people faces… so I have now found this very easy to do… however….

…. Whilst it is easy to use the keyframes to add the cookie cutter/pixelate is there a way of removing the effect.. and then bringing it when needed ie. remove?

Im not sure how to explain this but if, for example, the cookie cutter/pixelate effect is being used to track a motion for a few seconds.. and then the effect is not needed for a few seconds.. can it be turned off… be made invisable.. and then brought back in again when required.

When I first did this I put the cookie cutter/pixelate effect right in the corner of the screen.. forgetting about the motion tracking side of it so it just tracked from the corner of the screen to where it was next needed.

The only way I have found is to split the video.. then add the effect where ever it was needed…

It would appear to me it would be far easier to have a effect on/off facility within the effect itself to make it availble whenever it was needed.

So I just wondering if the effect could basically be made invisable at will to save having to keep splitting the video.

I have had a look at the cookie cutter…. in fact in the Help file it does refer to the effect as hiding a number plate… so it looks like this is what I am after..

I had a quick play but can you point me to a good tutorial to use this… there are various ones on You Tube but the ones I have seen dont seem to be very specific.

I do in fact have VisionLab Sutdio where I could probably do this but you lose the sound track and it isnt worth the hassle trying to put the sound track back on for the very short period that the effect is needed.

I am quite new to Vegas Studio.. more use to glueing super 8 together… (so many years ago!) And I am actually editing a friends holiday video and she caught the seven year old skinnny dipping and thought it funny to film him for a few seconds… But I pointed out to her that he probably would not appreciate her showing that video when he is older so I will try and protect his modesty and use a blur/pixelate to do this.
