It took me a year to figure out how to go from Avid MC on a Mac to Avid MC on a PC and I finally got it.

If you created your project on a Mac or PC,

    1- Open the project up.

2- Right click on a file in the open bin for your project.

    3- Select “Reveal File”.

4- A dialog box opens showing you where your files are located.

5- Write down the location. ex. “C drive/AvidMediaFiles/MXF/1”

6- Open up this folder and copy your files that you will need on an external hard drive.
*Also write down the and copy both your .AVB and .AVP files so you can open up your project. THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT. My wife emailed me these two files and it opened up perfectly.

7- Both Mac and PC have the same folder that Avid MC created on its own.

8- Paste these files on the same type of folder.

9- Create a new project, make sure you set (Project Settings)it up the same way as the other computer has been created. (Format, and Raster Dimension).

10- When that project opens up, you will have no bins in the Project box, so you will right click and select “Open Bin” look for your bin (.AVB) and this will open up your complete project with no “Offline” messages.

**You will not need the original files, all you need are thes MXF files.
