(APOLOGIES FOR THE CAPS LOCK. I’M SURE YOU AFTER EFFECTS MASTERS WILL UNDERSTAND 😉 !

CHANGING OUR COLOUR DEPTH TO 16BIT IS SAVING HUNDREDS OF BUTTON PRESSES TO ESCAPE THE WARNING MESSAGE.

WE ARE FINDING THAT THE EXTRA COLOUR DEPTH IS ONLY ADDING A FEW SECONDS TO EACH RENDER:) TOTALLY WORTH IT. NOW WE CAN GO BUY CHINESE FOOD AND CIDER!

    KEEP BEING BRILLIANT EVERYONE!

    Great advice there!

I just find it very annoying as I work in 8 bit; it’s faster, we’re going to Broadcast SD which by the time it gets to TV, looks nasty, so 10bit is a waste of render time.

The edit farm only use ProRes 4444 on the timeline and as i’m giving them Alpha too, I have no choice but to render out 4444 to include the Alpha and keep the timeline render-free 🙂

Until 5.5 there was no complaint but now i’ve got over 172 renders ready to go, i’ve got to push ENTER, 172 times on two machines. It’s a bit inconvenient and probably worth going to 10 bit just to avoid this.

Does anyone know how to turn the warning off?
I think Adobe should trust that we know what we’re doing.
If I find out, i’ll edit this post.

    Have good render times, peeps!

Hell Noise! Wooop woop! Well we can safetly say it’s not the hard disk. 2 hours Hell Noise Hell Noise free after restarting everything.

Engineer neighbour said he never used to get it in 64 bit mode… Only in 32.

Hi Everyone. I gave up on this persistent problem a while back, mainly because it’s always discussed and never solved or mentioned by Apple or M-Audio.

    It’s getting me into trouble!
The hell noise has damaged my right ear, given a solo artist The Fearâ„¢ and have had 2 commercial clients threaten to sue. It’s very a serious problem if you run your own business.

Deductive reasoning says the problem is not FCPro, Video Filters or Logic Pro/ M-Audio interfaces. Hell Noise can happen in any realtime App. I note that I haven’t seen any posts from Pro Tools HD users.

The COMMON piece of the puzzle here is G-RAID FW 800 drives or similar on the FW buss.
Can anyone confirm if they have external HD on the FW buss when this happens?

I assume everyone here does if you’re producing media. I’ll try USB drives soon and report back.

Hey all i’m in the UK and was one of the first with the almost lovely Hm700.
So i’m looking for feedback from other users.

It’s an awesome machine, i’ve named mine” Jessica” but I have a few queries of HM700 brethren.

    Filters.
Is anyone using filters with the stock fuji lens? How does it perform in low light?
    Noise starts at +3db gain.

    Buttons:
Within weeks the Slot Select button has already started to be a problem. Has anyone else noticed the amount of really cheap buttons on the HM700? This camera will definitely not stand being pulled up Mt.Kilimanjaro or serious ENG work the way DVCAM has done for decades. It’s a serious design fault that most used buttons are breakable and seldom used (like “status”) are made from weatherproof long-life buttons. Very annoying.

    Memory Cards!
There is a supplier here who I thought I’d let you know has an overstock of 16Gb kingston SDHC cards going at half price £25 each. They are around £54-£60 in London so email him while you can. big_memory@live.co.uk Nothing to do with me and my business.
