Still you’re getting your order already eventhough my order went in the very first day and mine is only a 6-core. Ah well, I guess I’ll have to take it as it comes but I wish Apple would be more open about things. I could still cancel my order so I can buy it from a business rep. but that would set me back months…

February 26, 2014 at 11:54 am in reply to: Should I have purchased New Mac Pro in Apple store for business??End of January, I wouldn’t expect anything soon I guess. I’ve been waiting for almost 70 days now… The only “heavy upgrade” I have is the D700 and an extra stick of RAM, that’s it…

I hope this delay scenario isn’t going to unfold. I’d rather have them tell me now then tell me on the 28th of february! But as I’ve said before, I’ve had 2 emails in which they told me they’re still expecting the tube to be delivered as planned(in february). They would look kind of stupid if that would suddenly slip to end of march or april-may.
Then again, they’re really into this secrecy thing so we can expect anything. Maybe an announcement op april 1st? that would be hilarious :-/

I guess we have to learn to read apples words carefully:
“shipping”(!!!) in february… As long as it goes out the door of the factory before 23:59 on february 28th they’ve kept their word…

as long as it’s shipping in february! 🙂

yeah well the end of February is coming. I figured I would perhaps receive my mp early February(as I’ve ordered the day it got released) but we’re already at 2/3 of the month.
Strangely I’ve heard of someone in the UK getting the mp in january while he had ordered his unit more than a week later than i did and he had a maxed out 8 core. -
On december 19th I’ve ordered a 6 core D700, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD…
It immediately said “shipping in February”. (I was able to order it in the early morning when shipping was still january if my wife didn’t take my credit card with here to the store that morning!!)
Interestingly though I’ve received 2 emails from apple about my status:
january 30th & february 17thBoth were standard emails giving a status update where was said the mac pro was still going to be shipped in february. I hope those emails are a sign that the pro is actually being assembled and shipping soon… iMac is driving me nuts!

is the assumption of 2/3 for FCP based on something or just a wild guess?
I remember when logic X was introduced, people on audio forums were raving about the app. Logic X is really a great application, wouldn’t surprise me if many people bought that app, even only for the “drummer’ feature

February 11, 2014 at 9:54 pm in reply to: 4K might become a reality quicker than we think“Try shooting a sharp image at 1/48 with a still camera.”
Isn’t that the same then for all sizes? whether it’s 540p, 720p, 1080p , or 4K?
By that logic shooting at 720p with a 50mm lens with the same aperture, shutterspeed and fps would yield a result that is sharper than shooting the very same way only now with 4K. -

February 11, 2014 at 9:46 am in reply to: 4K might become a reality quicker than we thinkSorry for my noob question but why exactly would you need 60 or 120 frames/sec to get sharp 4K?
Wouldn’t faster shutter speeds help?
Another question would be:
is 4K at 24fps looking better at 1080p vs something shot originally at 1080p at 24fps?What I also don’t understand yet is that people apparently can’t spot the difference between 1080p and 4K unless they’re really close to the screen but when shooting in 4K and then downsizing to 1080p makes for a better HD picture then when shooting in 1080p originally? There must be some logic in there but I don’t see it yet…
