  • “Heck, maybe they actually sold the 3D Title code to Apple and took home a nice paycheck.”

That’s an interesting thought! Not sure those things would actually happen but apple has got enough money to pay for the code

  • thanks,

I will check to make sure I don’t delete anything before I’ve properly deactivated them.

  • Hi Robin,

no I mean all the other apps on my mac. The adobe master collection, various audio programs like melodyne editor. As an end user you are only allowed a few installs. How do I transfer those licenses properly to my new OSX install?

  • Thanks, i’m considering the clean install. I’ve checked a couple of tutorials on how to best do that but none mention how to transfer all the licenses for the software. Or how to disable them in the current install first. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Andre

  • But if cpu isn’t used, why does the system slow down and crash/hang?

    haha, thanks 🙂

The way certain discussions are going here “x factor” comes to my mind. As a lot feel that someone chooses to work with an NLE despite the fact it can’t do this or that. So why work with it… Must be the x factor 🙂

    How about:

    NLE’s and the X factor

Whatever it should be, i do agree with a name change but also see it is hard to give up an old name, some get used to it and that can be hard to let go

Thanks Robin for your reply, I’m gonna try to do my next project differently and try to implement your suggestions. What I should mention is that I edit a lot of multi camera guitar tutorials which has its own needs but I sense there is a lot more to FCPX than I currently know so going to explore some more, thanks!

“The synced clip already is a compound clip (sans the icon) that you can open with the “Open in Timeline” command. What am I missing?”

    Wanted to update a little,

I’ve been working in my latest project with the synchronised clips instead of compound clips to see if they’re indeed the same but they do behave different in several ways. When I’ve edited the synced clip in the timeline and decide after the fact I’d like to have a generator inside the clip I have to do that for each of the cuts where as with a compound clip I can just add it to one of the cuts and it’ll become visible in all the other cuts as well. (kind of hard to explain)

After syncing I usually add other stuff like images and generators to the compound clips, how easy that works is different from synced clips.

Another thing (tiny) is that you have to right click a synced clip while a compound clip can be double clicked to open in the timeline.

I think there are a few other differences too.

Next I’ll check the workflow with the multicam clips but for what I do I’m guessing it’ll not necessarily be an improvement. (though I might be wrong)

Plural eyes trial is working very nicely by the way, that works super fast, thanks for mentioning it!
