The capture card I’m using is a Blackmagic Extreme card ( it is not an HD card ) And the deck I’m using is Sony PVW-2800. I’m editing in Final Cut Pro 6. I know is not going to look the same as the HD source. But I’m sure there’s something else I should do so it looks better. It’s something about the pixels because for example the closeups of the people in the image, when you see their face (the chick area doesn’t look smooth, it looks more like tiny squares. And also the in the bakckground of the picture (the clip content) there’s a lot of blue for some shots and a lot of red in others and you can also see weird pixels. The background of the video doesn’t look as clean and smooth like in the HD material. As of now I have been using the quicktime with the Apple Pro Res422 codec. I dont know if its gonna make a difference if I use in the sequence the other quicktime movie (DVCPRO HD). If this is impossible, is there any of you in the Los Angeles area that could put this clips into a sequence for tomorrow monday. And how much can this cost?
    thanks everybody.

    hello again,

I tried feeding a vhs signal to be able to capture audio from the mic but didn’t work. Is there any other option ?

    thanks
