I cut animated shows for a network.

Our biggest shows are still cut and finished in Final Cut 7, but all new shows are getting started in Premiere CC.
I usually have both applications open at the same time.

Final Cut X doesn’t seem to work well with the RADIOPLAY -> ANIMATIC -> ANIMATION workflow. We tried. We failed. But the transition from 7 to CC is slowwwww. Can’t just do it overnight.

Just gave it a quick try. Seems to be a VERY basic editor (limited audio, limited editing functions, total lack of key commands — iMovie has more going for it in editorial), but the other concepts involved — how everything is built in, make it really interesting…
I do like the interface a lot. Simple, clean… sort of a mashup of Avid on Mac and FCP 7.

Imagine you’d have to use Xto7 (on the App store), open your timeline in FCP 7, then send to Shake.

I don’t think there’s any reasonable round-tripping between X and Shake; they are very very far apart in terms of software generation.

I can’t wait for this day.

All our projects and our finishing house is still using FCP 7. Until we’re forced to switch for some reason, I can’t say we’ve seen anything go that direction yet. Most people are still treating FCP 7 like the one and only alt to AVID. It’s weird.

What happens when you monitor through your mac instead? Does the sync work?
Sounds more like a problem with Black Magic’s driver.

Is this with the blackmagic or without?

What happens when you change External Video to off?

Have you played with frame offset in System Settings?

Qmaster was working for me… i’ll give it another try though. What error were you getting?

It’s actually working okay for me too (installed it on a non-work machine), no problems opening projects at all. Still seems speedy.

Only new issue is the new fullscreen mode. If you set your external video to the 2nd display, it will still show a top menu bar above the picture. Seems a lot of people are having issues with this in general in various apps.
