Thank you for the clarification, Jerry! I’m happy to say that I found an instruction manual online earlier today that helped me resolve this issue.

It was definitely a case of needing to trash my Final Cut Pro Preferences…I’m not sure why the FCP Rescue wouldn’t open for me…but I basically ended up doing it manually and reopened my FCP6 to find everything restored to normal.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction & here’s the link for that instruction manual if you care to look at it & for anyone else who might come across this issue.

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately, the problem persists.

FCP Rescue did the same thing as FCP6…it downloaded fine, then when I try to open the application, FCP Rescue gives me a message that it unexpectedly closed, and it disappears.

I then reinstalled my MacPro start up disks (which is what I assumed you meant by doing a “clean install”)

The FCP6 still does not open.

Should I trash Final Cut Studio & reinstall again?

What are you thoughts?
