So, if I upgrade to 64 bit Windows 7, that would be my $120 fix to make it work, right? I hear Microsoft claims it is downward compatible with 32 bit software. Has anyone had any problems with this setup using industry standard video editing, compositing, disc authoring tools with this setup? The use of the RAM is my only real desired benefit.

ok, I just installed my 16 GB worth of memory cards into my KONA, only to discover (and remember actually after examination) that my machine with WINDOWS XP only was using 2.5 GB of my existing 4 GB of RAM cards, sharring the video card memory with the operating system not to exceed 4 GB under that operating system.

So it appears I need to change operating systems to upgrade to Windows 7 to get better use of my existing RAM and use the additional amounts I installed into the slots.

Will there be any hickups in using Windows 7 with the KONA? How about use of Autodesk Combustion?

People using HD, what setups are you using? I have the SuperMicro motherboard listed on the AJA website. Thanks for any feedback.

  • It seems in premiere there is a setting that makes you select the output of audio between the i/o on your video editing card/breakout box vs the one on your sound card. You have to choose the one you want. It seems like there is a toggle selection on one of the menus but I am not in front of it now to tell you how to get there. You’ve probably found it already since the post was some time ago.

I had a similar problem when I bought my system. I had to fix the system with the new driver. I adjusted the settings and it went away. It was really frustrating…

Call tech support and there is a guy there who knows my history and the steps to fix it. I am on CS4.. I also had black and white issues too while upside down. weird.

I noticed that your mid-spec machine had 1 GB of RAM. I have hickups with mine at 4GB RAM and am upgrading it to 16 as soon as it gets here this week. I would consider 1 GB very substandard, even for SD, personally. My advice in dealing with HD content is get some serious memory. Allan

I just ordered my Xena Lhi with breakout box and am hoping it will be a solid foundation for our first entry into HD for our studio. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I understand the unit will work good with other industry tools to complement our workflow. I hope it is everything we need it to be. Allan
