I ran into this back in the Truevision Targa 2000 MJPEG days.

After they went under, it was a while before anyone reverse engineered a way to read those codecs.

    As of cc2014….

you should be able to transcode and consolidate right from the sequence using FIle>Project Manager

    see this:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/how-to/consolidate-transcode-mixed-formats.html

    maybe that will help…

    thanks…

    Hmmmm….

well you can do this in PPro…

use the media browser to pull in the material you want to the project panel.

trim clips to taste then drop all clips now marked up in to a sequence.

select the sequence in the project panel…

Then use file>project manage to collect them to a new project.

This also offers trimming and transcoding as well..

Sub-clipping typically refers to soft marking a section of a longer file as a virtual clip.

Seems like you want an actual subset of frames trimmed.

this would require a transcode (even to the same codec) in order to accomplish it.

    maybe this will help:

it will at least explain some things better than I can.

    Hey TIm…

Look to the companion product, Prelude to transfer and organize and optionally transcode your source material.

Think of this as similar to log an transfer but as an external app, thus leaving the editor free while a producer or assistant preps material)

help that points you in the right direction…

Yeah, I think it’s silly to jettison it entirely.

    Hey Bob….

    Check out Boris FX Soundbite.

I think this was based on a product called “Get” (phoneme based search)…

    may be helpful…

December 17, 2014 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Black title changes colour when exporting MXF ???

I assume that this is coming off your timeline and going straight to MXF.

so the title in question is a CG title or Photohsop file? or some kind of graphic with alpha.

Can you export that section of the timeline as a Clip.

import it into the project, and then cut into the sequence on a higher track?

now you’d just be exporting video sources as opposed to video/gfx sources…

and that should also work around the problem.

I don’t know why this has happened….but that should help you get past it.

Not that you should have to….
but can you export the MXF from one of the other encoded masters?

  • Remember that a mutlicam sequence is just a sequence.

If later….you add another track with the additional angle, it will will automatically be available as a choice in the viewer.

I’m not super up on all the different sync techniques. I have traditionally just done it by hand, finding a common reference point and editing it to a track in the sequence accordingly….

if your material is not continuous this can make it more difficult, but not insurmountable….
