FFDShow does this to avoid conflicts with some programs.
If you want to be able to see that MP4 in AE (not recommended anyway), go to the ffdshow video config, “DirectShow control” and remove the AfterFX.exe file from the “don’t use ffdhsow in” textbox.

Yeah, I know it’s better in many ways, but some controls set me back. I’m the kind of guy that still has a single color desktop background. I am already looking for ways to make 7 feel like XP.
