I’m with you on that, but there got to be a way to put in some type of quicktime that can be read with a PC, is ProRes on of them?

Well, I tried animation however I get a 4.8 gig size file which won’t fit on a data dvd and that played choppy even on my system, so I don’t think that will work. Any other suggestions?

Thank you so much for your responses, unfortunately there are people in production that do not know how to download and install codecs, and are only confutable with tape and I can not get that HD signal to a Beta-SP so I will try animation and see how that turns out.

I know all the editors should install the sony codecs, however I was wondering if there is a alternative output codec, AppProRes, codec h.264, uncompressed…so that cross platforms can be viewed i.e. AVID in PC.
