  • I checked the FIELD ORDER and solved the problem. The sequence in FCP was in NONE. Once I’ve changed to upper, the alpha looks so much better.

    Yeah, I know, the best ways to do this is entirely in AE, but sometimes I need to work with alpha to create a more efficient workflow.

  • I’ve already done that, but didn’t solve.

    I think that I found the problem. The original footage has field dominance NONE and the footage that came from After Effects has field dominance UPPER. I notice that even setting field dominance to OFF in After Effects, when I import in FCP it is recognized as UPPER.

    So this is the problem. When I change the sequence setting to UPPER, this footage goes fine, but the other footages of the original material(that has not passed by after effects) has the quality decreased.

    Now I can solve by two ways:
    1- Discover how change field dominance from NONE to UPPER in FCP without quality loss.

    2- Discover how to export from After Effects with field dominance NONE.

    Anyone knows?

    I’m having a similar problem. I have to delivery 2 videos with this 2 specs:

    Video: MPEG 16Mbps, LONG GOP, 4:2:2, 720×486, 29.97fps
    Audio: aiff, 16bps : VBI Type: SMPTE 436M on line 12
    DID=45H; SDID:01H
    Container: .MXF(OP1A Internal)

    Video: XDCAM 50, 1920×1080; 29.97fps
    Audio: aiff, 16bps; VANC Type SMPTE 436M on line 10
    DID=45H; SDID=01H
    Container: .MXF(OP1A Internal)

    But using Sony XDCAM Transfer I didn’t found this settings, or even a custom which I can change. There are some way to increase the settings of export in Sony XDCAM Transfer or I’ll have to use other way to export this .mxf files? Which way?
