  • I’m having this same issue, but I’m not sure what kind of .MXF file it is I’m trying to import in AE. I was given .MXF to import in AE and can’t get it in. The prores I’ve been using to work with as a proxy is too artifacted for color.

How exactly can I figure out what codec or importer I need to be able to use the MXF files and import them into AE?

So this is what I tried to being with, since if works likes this with layers. But for whatever reason I they paste back in the same order not reversed. It doesn’t matter if I select the top or bottom one first, still pasting back in the same order. I tried adding a mask path keyframe to see if that would change it. Any ideas on why it’s not reversing mask order for me?

Correction. I have a bunch of tiff, all of which have an alpha layer in photoshop when opened. SOME of them interpret into AE with alpha, and some don’t. I can’t figure out the difference between them or how they got saved.

Any help as to why some wouldn’t interpret even with an alpha channel present?

I’m having the same problem with ae recognizing the tiff alpha channel. I have a channel for alpha in photoshop (img 1), but no mater how I save it, AE doesn’t see it(img 2). I ended up resaving them all as psd, which works fine. But for the future, how do I get ae to read the alpha?
