Try to remove the shortcut and set it again (maybe to a different key).

Check also keyboard preferences (language and layout of your windows user).

    Thank you for your suggest.

I have just tried to render it as .mov QT, as H264 and as uncompressed avi, using Premiere.

In all cases I had the same output result.

I am sure that this is not a playback/codec problem but a source file problem.

Have you got any pan captured with your reflex? I would expect the same result…

I think that RAM amount does not affect playback

    The video was not rendered.

It was extracted in that format from the camera (D4).

I tried with WMP and it is less choppy than with VLC and QT, but it is still a bit choppy. I tried on both SSD and WD 10000rpm disk

Thank you for you reply. I always shot in Manual btw 🙂

Before posting it, I tried to play it back using VLC in Windows and and QuickTime on Mac. Both were choppy. The Mac has a SSD and from windows I tried from an SSD and from a 7200rpm disk.

Is it really smooth on Windows with WMP? I will try, it is quite unbelievable for me!

Any other playback feedback from different systems?

    Thank you for you reply.

Of course shutter speed is 1/60 for 30fps and 1/50 for 24fps and 25fps, I never use different settings.

I also tried to use 1/30s to obtain smoother frames but nothing change.

Have you ever had the same problem?

Yes, I’ve spent a lot of time watching video comparison between D800 vs 5D Mark III, and Nikon DR looks a lot better.

However, Canon wins in low light conditions and moire: D800 cannot be used on pattern images while canon is perfect!

    Thank you

I’ve tried but I don’t see any performance improvement after renaming to .mp4…

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you

Thank you for the reply! I will try it.

Why should I do it in Bridge and not simply renaming the file from the explorer?

And why does it work for the D7000? Are there any differences in encoding between D7000 and, for example, D800?

Yes, before posting I searched on google and I found that problem.

However I have the same problem on VLC so I was thinking about a different cause!

    Thank you
