yup, just finished digitizing on FCP5 and brought it home for a PPro test, and no deal. got audio but no picture. had to give it a shot. the only reason for this workflow was circumstantial. thought i could return the camera to the owner and digitize while there and return home with the footage and get back to work. but alas, i’ll have to wait until tuesday to get the camera back to digitize on my system. but it’s imperative i understand how footage in different formats plays across platforms. inasmuch as a quicktime that uses ‘animation’ as its compressor plays on both platforms, i would expect any other quicktime using a codec made for both platforms to also play. but that is not the case. it just gets frustrating/confusing, esp. when another format hits the market. just trying to keep up.
