Thanks Brad, Yes I know the difference between proxy & optimized. I really only use / need the proxy files because we do very large multicam work.

I would transfer the Optimized media to the other editor but one wedding is usually 1.2TB (with Optimized & Proxy included) not enough room on his computer / hard drives.

Just really wanted to verify that from a quality standpoint, Optimized & Original will yield the same quality video.

Is there a quality (final film) difference between Optimized Media & Original Media? FCPX 10.4.8

I do all of my Documentary wedding films on my iMac. When finished i delete the Optimized Media and copy the entire library (Original & Proxy Media) to an external hard drive for another editor to make the highlight film.

So the 2nd editor will have the Original Media and Proxy Media (which I’m not even sure if he needs the Proxy Files at this point) to work with. When he exports 1080p file / video, will the quality suffer because he didn’t use Optimized instead?

I have exported a film both ways and the size is identical.
