Well Sonnet finally got back to me, I drove down to Irvine this morning and gave them the enclosure, the card and the drives – they said they should get started on it ASAP and hopefully they save our data.

Thanks everyone for all your help, it’s nice to have other people to count on for help – I’ll keep everyone updated in the future.

The Flash is the most current version.

This computer belongs to my boss so he bought the drives or they came with the RAID as a package deal (I’m almost positive it’s the latter.)

Something interesting did happen though, I followed some people’s advice on swapping drives and this is what happened:

I swapped drives 1 with 2 and drive 3 with 4. Before switching this is what the ATTO Config tool read:

    1. Unavailable
    2. Online
    3. Online
    4. Unavailable
    5. Online
    6. Degraded
    7. Online
    8. Online

After swapping the drives, the card read the same thing. Just thought that might help anyone still praying for me 🙂

    Here is the direct link:

If that doesn’t work here is the basic rundown:

Drives # 2,3,5,6,7,8 are shown under ‘Attached Drives’

under that under the tab ‘SonnetGroup’ is shows that Drives 1 and 4 are ‘Unavailable’ and Drive 6 is ‘Degraded’

    Hope that helps.

Hey thanks so much for the response, sounds like you and I are/were experience very similar problems indeed.

We did already replace the ATTO card with the newer heatsink but I am looking at the links you supplied to see if they help.

I am running a Mac Pro 2 x 3 GHz Quad Core Intel Xenon with 16 GBs RAM

Yes, I have been in direct contact with Sonnet (the manufacturer) and the reseller we bought it from. Both parties are just as confused as I am and have offered their advice, nothing of which has solved my issue currently.

I am still trying to work with them, though I thought I might try the collective brain power of creative cow to help better my odds of saving my data 🙂
