Haven’t tried the update yet, but we’re getting the same 21-22fps on our 2008 with two monitors connected. With just one monitor it’s borderline 23-24fps with even the occasional flash of green. We also have 8GB RAM, 2x2GB in each channel. Using dimm slots 3 & 4 can have a small performance hit as well.

Yeah the basemem on a 888/2K could be overwritten just like any other memory. What made it a “special” memory is that when you reset something individually it reset to what was stored in the basemem.

The D & E dissolve changed in the 2K to dissolve between the last two selected memories. 🙂

No hotkeys for memory store/recall on either Wave or keyboard is going to be rough. I’d put that second on my list of requested features. First request being able to use my 2K panels on the Mac version!

My copy was delivered today from Safe Harbor, but after I already left work.

I don’t think anyone is disputing the value of the turnkey Linux solution, or even the price really. I think the oddness is that the Linux version of the software is advertised as $19k… but you can’t actually buy anything for $19k.

We’re going to attempt it on a 3,1 system (8-core, 2.8Ghz, 14GB RAM, and FC to a Terrablock). Already have the GT120, GTX285, Tangent Wave, and Decklink Extreme 3D waiting to go.

Need a beta tester? 🙂 We’re a small film lab with 2 telecine suites and we’re using this to get our feet wet in file-based workflows (aside from playing in Color).
