Thanks guys, we are going with having the client use movie note taker. Thanks God they make a pc version ( he is one of theses people who bags mac with never having used one ). He did want to watch the rushes on his tv fed from his computer so yeah the TC needed to be big and burnt into picture. I found QT sync TC burnt right onto a 1080 frame ended up to be tiny. QT TC burn in was way slow just like FCP. Toki looked like it may work but I have 25 tapes to do so speed of export or render is very important.

Final verdict; best way I see would be to render and hour and 6 min in motion or after effects a clip of timecode with alpha that can be laid right over the shots on a sequence and exported like that.

Yeah the playhead thing I was having to do also, but it is beyond that, Iam on a new machine and have not set any prefs yet, would I still need to trash it ?? I have figured out a work around though, I dont know why it is working but it is. I am creating a new sequence and pasting in the media from the sequence I am having probs with, I have to render the whole sequnce again, my sequences are only 5 min max long, but it is doing the trick for me.

Thanks guys, tried those things, no joy. I just tried to do some color correction with the inbuilt 3 way corrector, apply a blur and could not get the canvas or my preview monitor to show the image effects, only can see it in the viewer vid window, seems I cant get any filters to work on there, I am using the same method of application as I always have, double click the clip in the time line, then throw the filter in the filter window of the viewer.

Earlier today I managed to apply some of the g filters by copying attributes to clips, which worked a few times then for some reason just stopped. Is there a render setting I need to change, I cant remember if the clips I managed to apply the filters to were in the same sequnce then I changed sequences and tried to do it to clips in a sequence that had different settings…
