Does Resolve have any built in relighting functions similar to Lustre?

What about anything similar to the Rays function to simulate for example a flashlight beam that Lustre has?

[Nate Weaver] Before Wednesday morning, the only way to do that was via EDL or Avid AAF. Resolve 8 came out Wed, and now takes XML from FCP7. Flawlessly, in my short tests, I might add.

But so any NLE that can export EDL or AAF would do as good as XML and you don’t necessarily need XML or are there advantages in XML? I’m talking independently from FCP here.

[Nate Weaver] For any format better than ProRes like Red, Arriraw, etc, it’s prefereable to work with the original camera media…and that’s where you need that EDL or XML out of your NLE.

So when you export EDL, AAF or XML to Resolve, Resolve works directly with the original files that the NLE is working? So if you have for example Cineform on your timeline, Resolve would have to be able to work with Cineform? Can it?

Top youtuber? Is that supposed to be something respectful or impressive? The problem is not that he is a dude working from his bedroom on videoblogs for you-crap-on-the-tube. The problem is that his editing sucks! As demonstrated by that video.
Couldn’t care less if he is a top youtuber, a bottom youtuber or a sideways youtuber.

There are two parts to the round trip process. One is the image file format and the other the EDL/XML/AAF/ALE metadata exchange.

In terms of image format, Resolve supports TIFF, DPX, Prores, DNxHD? Any support for Cineform?

Prior to 8.0 there was EDL and limited AAF.

Does 8.0 still support EDL?

Resolve 8.0 can also accept an AAF from Avid Media Composer (and relink graded images back in MC) or XML from FCP7 and send XML back for relink.

Can it also accept AAF from other NLEs besides Avid and have the same functionality?
Same question for XML and FCP7?
