    Hi Todd

Just to say that I got the 6-core Mac Pro with 64GB RAM. On the whole very impressed! I’m now getting render times around 10 times faster than what I was having before!

The main thing I’m still disappointed with is the times associated with using the Magic Bullet plugins. Looking for a workaround at the moment to try and improve render times even further.

    Thanks for your help

    Adam

Thanks Tero. What I ended up doing was rendering small sections. The RAM would max out, crash the render if I left it running. Had to restart AE to get the memory to reset itself and then start from where I’d left off. Very frustrating! Nice idea re rendering without the plugins though, and then try them afterwards. I’ve actually come to the conclusion that I’m not going to do anymore work on it until I get a new Mac!

I’m thinking along the same lines Tero!

Hi Todd, thanks very much for the feedback. Would you expect me to notice a big difference in previewing and rendering over my current iMac setup with the 6-core (64GB)?

    Thanks very much for this.

The only problem I had with a longer loop was the file size. I imported the rendered file into Photoshop and exported as an animated gif. The clip in the header just now is about 5mb.

Thanks for the heads up on Particular, had a look on the Red Giant site, looks amazing!

Any ideas how you would create a suitable length clip, at a high quality, without it getting too large? Is there a better method than animated gif? Didn’t want to use flash for obvious Apple reasons!

    Thanks for any further help.

Here’s the website I’ve designed, with the existing animation so you can see the problem I have.
