I looked in the “Standard Effects” folder on my computer and see no “CC” effect files in the folder what so ever. Is that the folder they should be in?

Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t there a “CC Spotlight” effect? Is there any other way to add a spotlight overlay lighting effect to a layer in AE without the CC effect?

Not sure on reinstalling by CD. I don’t have the CD here with me anyways.

I don’t think it is. I have shut down every other process, only running Encore. Plus it appears to be tied specifically be this project. I opened another project and it burns fine on these Verbatim discs, but not this project.

Like I said, the first time I tried it started burning fine, then stalled and I had to kill Encore, restart to do anything, even open my cd drive. What could that have done to totally ruin my project for the 4th time?

They accept DVD+R DL as a master. I’m just wondering if because sometimes I’m having trouble reading this disc with my player will that cause a similar problem with the replicated discs as well

So lets say its having trouble reading it because of the low reflectivity of a DL burned disc. Would a replication company be able to successfully press (they press, not burn) my DVD’s from this master?

I couldn’t find any other DL brands in my area. What’s so bad about Memorex?

I tried this disc several more times with no luck, then tested another Memorex DL disc that only has 3.7GB on it and this disc works fine, never had a problem with it. So I tried the 7.7GB DL that wasn’t working right after and now it works. What gives? What would cause it to sometimes successfully read this disc and sometimes not? Is it likely an authoring, disc, or dvd player error? Are all DVD players fully compatible with reading DL discs? ARe any brands known to have problems reading them?

Well, I guess there are no end to the number of Encore errors. I have rebuilt my project from scratch for the third time, everything was going smoothly until this error during the burn process…

“Sorry, an abnormal condition has been detected. Before quitting, you have on chance to save your project (don’t use the same name as the original).”

The status window behind it says…

What caused this?

Would it be a good idea to further transcode one of my less important video files to create a little extra free space for allowance? If so, what’s a good manual transcode setting to do this and still maintain atleast decent quality?

Hi Neil, this is in response to the question I asked and you answered on Matt’s post. I dont want to hijack his thread, so I’ll post it here.

My project is filled to the limit (7.95gb on a 7.96gb disc). To avoid the chances of the ‘gotcha’ problem, would it be best to further transcode on of the video files to give the project more free space?

Also I understand Encore won’t allow you to manually choose the break point and you can’t visually see where it automatically places it. Is there anyway to order the files in your project so they have a less chance of getting the layer break? For example I have one very important timeline and several ‘extras’ timelines. If I could eliminate the chance of the break happening on the main timeline that would be ideal. Is that possible through arranging the files in encore some how?
