There’s only a mic option and going through firewire actually sounds fine. thanks for the response!

the mic uses phantom power (at-897) but you can pop a battery in there as well so there is no phantom power needed.
i have a mini adapter which will plug into a computer, however when recording using the mic and adapter, it records with alot of static.
i also tried having the shotgun attached to the camera and connecting the camera to the computer thru firewire, but my understanding is you don’t get as good quality doing it that way.
any thoughts?

yes, i was going to ask about the roto work to take those black tracker things out. ouch. and yes, thanks for other notes. i have learned the hard way of the importance of even lighting, distance of the screen from the talent, and size of the screen.

as far as sharpness, not at all. both are great under ideal conditions. the xha1 is a bit better under less ideal conditions.

i was looking moreso like a quick color replace technique.

also, dont forget to include the property that is being referenced for the loopout.
loopOut() — gives an error
transform.opacity.loopOut() – works for me.

for the hv20, you’ll have to do a pulldown to 24p while the xha1 is 24p without a pulldown.
the xha1 saturates colors a bit more. make sure to check both images in a monitor.
