Indie Developer Launches Orty, aWindows App That Helps Freelance VideoEditors Find Better Clients

Instead of replacing editors, Orty helps them decide who is actually worth contacting—and drafts a personalized outreach email based on the creator’s content.

Freelance video editors often spend more time looking for clients than editing videos.

Hours disappear researching YouTube channels, Instagram creators, and businesses—trying to guess whether they’re worth contacting, whether they have the budget to hire, and what to write in a cold email.

Orty is a new Windows desktop application built to simplify that process.

Instead of manually researching every potential client, users can drop in a screenshot of a creator’s profile. Orty analyzes the profile, estimates whether the creator is likely to be a good client, explains the reasoning behind its score, and drafts a personalized outreach email based on the creator’s content and branding.

Everything is designed around helping freelancers spend less time searching and more time doing paid work.

Unlike many AI tools, Orty is built with a local-first philosophy. The application stores projects, notes, CRM data, and outreach history on the user’s own computer. Users connect directly to their preferred AI provider using their own API key, meaning screenshots are never routed through Orty’s servers.

The latest release, v1.20-beta, introduces several improvements requested by early testers, including:

Outreach diagnostics that identify why previous pitches may not have converted

A local CRM for tracking every outreach conversation

Goal tracking for freelance outreach

A guided onboarding experience for new users

Improved stability and performance across the application

The project is developed independently by founder Rayene, who built Orty after experiencing how repetitive and uncertain freelance outreach can become.

Rather than trying to automate conversations, the application focuses on helping editors make better decisions before they ever press “Send.”

Orty is currently available for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
