Zooming in on live action

If it is FCP, while you drag the wireframe of you clip, hold the shit button.

You can use Track Motion or Pan/Crop to do a zoom in.
Either one will maintain the existing aspect ratio.

Track Motion is enabled by clicking the Track Motion button in the track header area, placing your cursor on one corner and dragging the box smaller.
Note 1: make sure the Lock Aspect Ration box at the top of this screen is enabled.
Note 2: Track Motion affects everything on the track so either use keyframes to limit your zoom to this section only or place it on it’s own track.

Pan/Crop is accessed by clicking the Event Pan Crop icon on the event itself.
Once in the Pan/Crop window, place your cursor on one corner and drag it outwards.
Note: lower the Zoom % (under Workspace at the bottom of the tools column) to be make it easier to see this.

Hi Mike,
The pan and crop did the trick.
However it took a while to get the hang of working with key frames. After figuring out the ‘Sync Cursor’ button, animating my clip was a snap.
