Zooming in on an *.ai vector shape
I’m trying to zoom in on a section of a map that’s outlined by a red vector *.ai shape box. The map and the box are 2 separate layers. The box is parented to the map. I want the width of the box’s stroke to stay the same throughout the zoom.
I’ve noticed that some *.ai vector shapes I import from Illustrator seem to hold the width of their stroke when I zoom in on them, and some don’t, the strokes just get bigger as I zoom in on them in AE.
I always check the little “star” box indicating I need them to continuously rasterize.
Is there a way to ensure that as I zoom in on a “hollow” *.ai vector shape that it would maintain the width of its stroke?

If you create actual vectors for the stroke in illustrator then it will have a vector for the inside and outside edges of the stroke as well as a center fill area.
Open the ai file and choose from the top menu OBJECT/PATH/OUTLINE STROKE to create vectors of your objects. If they are text then you will have to right click them and choose outline path first to change them from text to actual editable vectors.
