    Hello,

I am cooperating on a independant feature film, one of the things need to add is camera shake to some shot footage. My question is:

How much procent% can I zoom in on 35mm so its still good for projection?

And can I zoom a certain shot more if I would build up to it?(zooming the previous and next shots a little. Like building a ramp.)

    Thanx And Greetings.

Did you try the Cinematography or Staging/Live Events COW?

This depends, to an extent, on how you’re working with the footage. If your 35mm footage has been scanned in at 4K then I’d say you’re in good shape to zoom in a fair amount, if its been scanned in at 2K then maybe you don’t have as much to work with… If it’s been telecined down to SD resolution then you’re hosed.

That said, if you’re doing quick zooms you will benefit from the physical properties of photography in that the image would go slightly out of focus during quick zooms, you could even accentuate this effect by blurring the footage very slightly as you zoom. Take a look at the show ‘Arrested Development’ for more ideas (although they did most of the work in camera, it’d be good reference material).
