Hello, thank you all for reading my post.

I bought the Zoom and love it. I also own the Azden WLX-PRO Camera Mountable VHF Wireless Lavalier System. This system works with 1/8″ Mini outputs, not Zoom friendly, so I bought an Rode VXLR 3.5mm Mini Jack to 3-Pin XLR Input Connector. When I plug either the system or the mic into the converter connected to the Zoom, no sound no matter what I’ve tried. Can anyone help me out here as to what I am doing wrong? Please?????

Hello John and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

The Rode. Is it the VXLR?

Does the Azden work plugged in elsewhere?

Try plugging a mic in to the zoom. If it works.

It’s either the plumbing (incorrect connections) or a bad piece.

Bet the VXLR is set up as a “balanced” or Tip, Ring, Sleeve connection and the wireless sends out an unbalanced Tip, Sleeve feed. What you need is a cable with a 3.5mm plug wired tip sleeve to an xlr-m wired unbalanced.

Contact me at audioetc@bellsouth.net and I’ll show you the line of custom cables I make for just such issues.

    Eric
