Zoom H1n Skipping Real Time Audio When Recording
Hello All,
I searched the internet for about an hour and couldn’t find anyone else experiencing this anywhere. I just purchased a H1n last week and used it for the first time for some interviews. I Press start on the recorder, put it on hold and leave it for the duration of the interview. Throughout that time I will start and stop the camera when we are rolling and then use Premier Pro to sync up the zoom audio with the video.
So when I got into post today, I am syncing up my multiple videos with my single full length zoom track and when I synchronize a clip I see it overlaps another video clip that had already been synced. This shouldn’t be possible as the zoom audio was recording the entire time in real time and the video was being stopped.
upon further investigation I found that the zoom audio literally skipped over a portion of real time (as if I had stopped and restarted the recording) yet it is still all in one clip, so it definitely wasn’t stopped and restarted. This happened multiple times and roughly cut out about 10 seconds of real time before continuing with the voice recording.
as I mentioned above I couldn’t find anyone else experiencing this problem and have no idea what could cause it? I was recording on a Sandisk 32gb Ultra Micro SD so it should have plenty of write speed to cause a bug like that?
maybe my new hardware is at fault? I have used a Zoom H1 for years and have never had an issue. Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks,
Devin
