  Zip utility uncompressing in the wrong location

  This just started recently, I am uncompressing a few .zip files that I copied to an external drive and for whatever reason, they are uncompressing to a different folder inside my hard drive. Then I have to copy the folders to where I want them.

  the hard drive has more than half a terabyte of space available.
  I’m using Mac OS Mojave.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
