I’m capturing footage that was offline in an Avid – moved to my FCP via Automatic duck, thence to another FCP. Some of the footage is coiming in fine, some less so:

batch capture goes through all the motions – running the tape, claiming to capture. Then, however, the clip still comes up as ‘media offline’. Reconnecting the media does the same – goes through the process all the way up to finding the media, but will not allow me to ‘connect’ – the button stays grayed out.

Looking at the quicktime files created gives me a clue: although they’re full-size NTSC DV (ie 6s = about 22mb), they have a duration of 0, and are white.

All the media for this project is NTSC DV, so why it works for some tapes and not others is a mystery. Prefs have been trashed, offending tapes have deen test-captured with different in and out points no problem.

    Any ideas?
