Z7U HDV tape footage to FCP not working
Rented a Z7U and shot HDV tape today but can’t get it from the camera to the computer…and little or nothing in the book about it. The only cable I have on hand is the 6-pin 1394 cable, but i get no signal at all to my Mac, and on the camcorder, the screen said “HDV IN iLink” (instead of out). I went through the menus and didn’t see anywhere to change the settings to send out a signal. Any ideas?

Hey Jerry! Thanks so much for the phone call the other day that solved this problem easily. For anyone else who is clueless as I, Jerry said i had done everything right…EXCEPT for having FCP unlaunched before hooking up the Firewire cable. Once I did that, it worked like a charm. Thanks again, Jerry!
