The last two projects I imported from the Sony Z1U have been blurry with jagged edges in FCPX. I’m ingesting at 1080 60. In the preview window its looks clean and sharp when ingesting, but when its done the playback looks terrible. Its not a render issue because when I export the project it still looks unacceptable in quicktime. What am I doing wrong? When I import from my Panasonic P2 camera, the footage looks fine.

What are the specs on the media in the inspector? What are the project properties?

    All the best,

    Tom

ON my system system some HDV frankly looks pretty nasty in FCP X when viewing in “Better Performance”. Can you see if it improves with “High Quality”?

Of course that doesn’t answer why it looks poor in QuickTime. Can you post a screen shot of both FCP X and QuickTime?
