  z1u footage compatible in z7u camera?

  I wanted to get the expert opinion of the cow users on this. It is more a camera question, but it is about getting the footage into FCP. My company is thinking about purchasing a Sony z7u for some of our lighter production work. Traditionally we have rented a z1u and just captured from the camera after the shoot (I know, I know…not the best way to capture 🙂 I read that someone was having issues getting a tape that they shot on the z1u to playback on the z7u…which seems very, very odd considering they are both Sony HDV cameras. They swore the footage was shot in a compatible “setting” with the z7u but the tape would immediately eject itself.

  Has anybody heard of, or experienced this problem? This is my only hang-up, as we have quite a bit of archived z1u footage we may need to re-capture in the future and we would like to be able to use the z7u to capture from if needed. If anybody can confirm that they have done this without any issue that would great!
