I’m having a very strange problem with my Z1 and Premiere Pro 1.51 (with the AspectHD 3 Cineform Plugin).

No matter what I seem to do, I can’t batch capture. I know batch capture is supported and I swear I did it before.

Here’s the example…. Using capture (F5), move the tape transport to 01:18:00:02. Mark an in-point. Then either move the transport to 01:19:00:02 or just type in the outpoint to that number. Then move the transport to 01:18:30:00. Either press “Log Clip” then try to batch capture or just hit “Capture In to Out”. The camera will start Fast Forwarding and hit the end of the tape then Premiere will say “Batch Capture failed.”

I can manually capture (along with time code, etc) just fine. I have visually confirmed there are no breaks in time code. There are no scene changes. No matter where on the tape you’re parked when you tell it to capture the in to out points, the camera fast forwards to the end of the tape.

However, if you turn on the downconverter in the camera (output to DV), everything works great. No problems at all.

I have tried this on two completely separate PCs, each with a different installation of PPro 1.51 and AspectHD3. In addition, this problem still happens if I don’t use AspectHD and I just use the PPro 1.51 HDV plug-in (which is still Cineform, but the limited non-real time edition). I have also tried this with multiple tapes, with different time codes.

    I’m stumped.

Is anyone else sucessfully using PPro batch capture with HDV?

    Thanks

Sorry, I mean to post this in the HDV forum. Can’t find a way to delete it. Can the moderator delete this thread here, please?

    Thanks
