Z Cam proxy issue when importing in Final Cut Pro X
When importing footage from Z Cam E2 (the original Z Cam) the 4k shots and their camera-generated proxies show up in the import window together, though they show up on the desktop C Fast card as being in a separate file. The camera generates these files for in-camera playback, and you cannot turn that option off. If you import them all, FC makes its own proxies and the camera proxies show up as smaller files with identical names as the original file, which jams up the bins with duplicate material. The only way I can figure out to get around this is to import each 4K file individually, which is much slower than batch importing them.
Has anyone come across this problem and come up with a work-around. Deleting the proxy folder on the C fast card doesn’t work (the proxies still show up in the import window).
