    Hi,

I have bad interlacing and jumpy effects that’s created when things are obviously not done right with 24p, digitizing and timelines. I have read posts and I have tried most all the advice and I still have the same problem. The one thing I cannot do is redigitize my footage as I am on a major deadline.

Here’s the info if you can help:

    Background:

    Shot on Panasonic DVX100a – 24p
All clips are 24 w/the exception of a handful that are 29.97 (Mistake, I know.)
Have both a computer monitor and tv monitor for playback

    Solutions attempted:

I had originally been editing on a 29.97 timeline so what I did were copy and paste my edits into the following sequences:

    23.98
    23.98 with 24 Timecode
29.97 with used “progressive” in Quicktime advanced settings

    Problem:

They all look the same with the yuckville interlacing and jumpiness.

Thanks bigtime to anyone who can help. I’m in a bind/crunch and it’s urgent.

What is your capture frame-rate? It must *always* be 29.97 and then remove advance pulldown.

The video frame rate in my project says the clips are 24. An asst editor digitized about 2 years ago and I”m not sure of the capture rate.

Without knowing the capture frame rate there is little you can do. Chances are he made the common mistake of setting the capture frame rate at 24 resulting in clips with incorrect interlaced frames. Only way to fix is to go back to original media.

    Hi Noah:
Why if the DVX 100A is a digital format source & camera did Nicole have to “digitize” from an already digital format? Or is she talking about “capturing”?

    Thanks
